The Thinklab is a film production company and digital services shop based in Madrid and New York. The Thinklab produces quality content for global audiences, specializing mostly on documentary films, advertising and post-production. The Thinklab has broadcast its award winning films on many global channels. Its latest film, Radiophobia, a film on the Chernobyl's Disaster was broadcast on National Geographic Channel, TVE (Spain), History Channel, Aljazeera, DR2, MTV3, 1+1, Planete, TVR (Romania), Taiwan, New Zealand, Latin America, etc. The Thinklab is currently producing several documentary films in Europe and the US.

JULIO SOTO / DIRECTOR

Julio Soto is a film producer/director based in between Madrid and New York. In 2004, he co-founded the independent production company The Thinklab. His most recent documentary film, Radiophobia was presented at the 2006 Hollywood Awards. It has received many international awards for Best Documentary at this year's 9TH Brooklyn International Film Festival in New York; XXIII Bogotá IFF; 2006 ECU European Independent FF in Paris; Documenta Madrid 2006, GFFS IFF in Seoul, Korea, besides being presented at major international FFs. Julio Soto was recently awarded a fellowship from the prestigious New York Foundation for the Arts to continue his artistic dedication to film. His films have also received numerous awards at the 2005 Toronto Latin FF, the 2005 Rio de Janeiro VideoArt Festival, the 2002 Brooklyn IFF, the NAP Video Biennial in Pasadena and the 2003 Media Arts Festival Japan. His work has been shown extensively at film festivals such as IDFA, Sunny Side, Clermont-Ferrand, New York Underground FF, Viper Basel, Impakt, Oberhausen, Hamburg, Nemo and Kasseler to name a few. He has also exhibited at the Cervantes Institute in NY, the Queens Museum of Art in NY, the Brooklyn Museum of Art in NY, the Museums of Contemporary Art in Chicago, Río de Janeiro, Bucarest, and the Institute for Contemporary Art in London.

Juan Dakas / Producer / Executive Producer

Juan Dakas holds several University and Master Degrees in Law, Journalism and Radio Journalism from the University of Madrid, Spain. He has been working in the entertainment industry sine 1992 where he explored the different roles of actor, narrator and producer, but probably his good reputation in the industry originated from his relationship with actor and Director Santiago Segura. Along with Mr. Segura, they both developed some of the most successful and popular films in recent Spanish cinema such as: ‘The Day of the Beast', ‘Muertos de Risa', ‘Torrente', ‘Torrente 2: Mission in Marbella', ‘The Gold from Moscow' and ‘One of Zombies'.

Alexander Stikich / Cinematographer / Associate producer

Grew up traveling between Venezuela and Yugoslavia to eventually end up in New York. He works professionally on a wide range of documentary, narrative and experimental projects and his work has been screened/exhibited worldwide in numerous venues including Sundance, PBS, WWVF (Amsterdam), VideoBrasil (Sao Paulo) and The Brooklyn Museum of Art. His work often explores issues such as globalization, corruption, immigration and human rights.

Yuriy Tatarchuck / Associate Producer

Mr. Tatarchuck has been working as a Public Relations Consultant at the Chernobyl Power Plant since 1998. The focus of his practice has been to provide information about the 1986 accident and its impact on nature and people. He is responsible for guiding journalists, scientists and filmmakers inside of the Chernobyl Exclusion Zone. From 1995 till 1998 he worked as a secondary school teacher in the town of Slavutich for the children of the staff of the Chernobyl AES. Parallel to this work he cooperated with the Regional Center for Youth and he was responsible for the conception of anti AIDS and narcotics campaigns in the region.
